PRO SURFER Mike Fanning escaped a shark attack on live TV during the opening minutes of the final heat of the J-Bay Open, the sixth stop on the 2015 Samsung Galaxy World Surf League Championship Tour. Fanning felt himself being pulled under by the shark before punching his way to safety. The remainder of the competition was called off.
