2016 And A Woman’s Right To An Abortion

Where will we be at the end of 2016 regarding a woman’s right to a legal abortion?  The Supreme Court has agreed to listen to Whole Woman’s Health v. Cole, a case that could overturn Roe v. Wade.  The next election cycle for President and other offices around the country could potentially also end a woman’s right to an abortion. States lead by Republicans have been very successful at restricting abortion with a whole host of ludicrous laws that have ended up with women having to sometimes drive hundreds of miles to get an abortion. Will they be successful in legislating abortion out of reach for all but the very rich? The year to come will demonstrate our will as a nation to defend women’s rights. Or not.
