To hell with taxes; to hell with spending; to hell with regulations. All in the name of prosperity and equality for all. But the Republican special formula is simply a distillation of Reaganomics, and we all know how that turned out. So why are GOP candidates still clinging to flawed economic theories and disastrous policies?

Well, remember the “roaring twenties,” speakeasies and all the fun Americans had? Well, not everyone was dancing. And not everyone is dancing now.

Turns out the boondoggle they keep peddling to the American people is at least one hundred years old. Calvin Coolidge was also a proponent of what was then called “scientific taxation”—the same kooky idea that lower taxes INCREASE government revenue, reports Eliza A. Webb in Salon.
