At the end of what was described as a “beautiful and peaceful evening” by those that came to gather in protest of the two recent murders of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, an ambush of horrific proportions occurred. Twelve police officers were shot, five of them died.
So far the police have three suspects in custody, one was killed in an altercation with the police. Another has now been quoted by Chief David Brown as saying he wanted to “kill white people - particularly white police officers.”
