In her new memoir, Tippi Hedren accuses the world famous director Alfred Hitchcock of what today would be described as sexual assault.

 Tippi, which debuts on Tuesday, recounts the time the lead actress spent with Hitchcock on the sets of The Birds and Marnie — the first time she’s written about working with Hitchcock in such detail.

During the six months the actress spent making the 1963 movie, The Birds, Hedren says she suffered constant sexual harassment, intimidation and cruelty.

According to Hedren, Hitchcock’s sadistic obsession with her lasted until she did not succumb to him sexually while on the set of their second film together, Marnie. After that, he set out to ruin her career.
