North Korea’s, Kim Jong Un, warned the United States to end its “military hysteria” or face retaliation during a parade on Saturday marking the “Day of the Sun”, the 105th birth anniversary of Kim’s grandfather and North Korea’s founding father, report Sue-Lin Wong and Damir Sagolj.
The KCNA state news agency said the Trump administration’s “serious military hysteria” had reached a “dangerous phase which can no longer be overlooked,” reports HuffPost.
Concern about President Donald Trump’s plans for North Korea have increased since the U.S. Navy fired Tomahawk missiles at a Syrian airfield last week in response to President Assad’s deadly gas attack. In defiance of UN and unilateral sanctions, North Korea has conducted several missile and nuclear tests recently, worrying its neighbors and US allies, including South Korea and Japan. Kim has promised military retaliation if the US persists.
North Korea is still technically at war with South Korea, since their 1950-53 conflict ended with a truce, not a treaty.
