The day that Kellyanne Conway went on Fox News and encouraged people to buy from Ivanka’s line of clothing and accessories the brand got a huge bump in sales. States that normally didn’t show any sales for Trump became active. And while blue state sales went down the sharp increase in red states was made up for the difference. Conway did what she set out to do via her appearance on Fox News where she said the following:
‘I fully, I’m going to give a free commercial here. Go buy it today, everybody. You can find it online.’
Conway violated ethics rules when she promoted Ivanka’s Trump’s line on television. The Trump administration did not address her breach of conflict of interest rules. Overall, the administration has refused to address any ethics violations in any real way. Trump turning over the running of his companies to his sons accomplishes nothing as he still benefits because he divested himself of his shares in them.
According to The Huffington Post,
The brand saw an 802 percent increase in February in Kentucky and a 1,173 percent increase in Texas. There was also a 598 percent increase in Florida, which is not technically a red state but did go for Donald Trump in the 2016 election.
