There is a separation of Church and state in this nation. But many Christians believe that they hold a right that the rest of us don’t. They expect to not only believe what they choose, they also expect that our laws and culture should reflect their values and not anyone else’s.
Vice President Mike Pence is a devout Christian. He wears his faith on his sleeve and he governs with his religion at the forefront of his decisions. Those decisions have attempted to deny women’s right to an abortion based on his religious belief. He is against same-sex marriage because of his religious beliefs and if he had his way would outlaw it.
Yet according to the Huffington Post, Pence believes it is Christians that are persecuted not only around the world but here in the US. At a meeting of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association yesterday he said the following;
‘The Bible tells us: ‘All who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.’
Christians aren’t persecuted more than any other religion, especially within the United States where Jews and other religions suffer more discrimination and are victims of hate crimes at a greater rate than Christians.
