Bill Cosby is about to go on a speaking tour. Initially, it was reported that Cosby was going to be “teaching” men how to avoid being falsely accused of sexually assaulting women. Now his spokesperson is saying that the tour is not about avoiding sexual assault but is, instead, a legacy tour—sort of like a victory lap.
Cosby is going on tour after a mistrial in a sexual assault case against him. He seems to not be cognizant of the fact that the prosecutor intends to try him again and that he won no victory. In his, and one would guess his wife’s mind, that mistrial was a vindication. They fail to realize that he won nothing and that there are still 60 plus women who have accused him of drugging and sexually assaulting them.
If Cosby had an ounce of integrity he would step out of the limelight and spend his last years with the few people who still love and respect him. But he doesn’t.
Bill Cosby destroyed his own reputation. He may have escaped jail this time around but he may still find himself behind bars. Taking a “legacy tour” is a sick, sad reminder of how far this man has fallen.
