The GOP would have you believe that people who are on Medicaid are not happy with their coverage and would prefer to buy private insurance or even have no coverage… A new study proves that they couldn’t be more wrong.

According to ThinkProgress, the study shows that “Overall, Medicaid enrollees across a range of demographics rated their health care 7.9 on a 0 to 10 scale, with 46 percent giving their coverage a score of 9 or 10. Only 7.6 percent gave a score under 5.”

A full 20% of Americans are on Medicaid, most of them are children, the disabled and the elderly. If the GOP has its way Medicaid will eventually be eliminated and this very vulnerable population will be forced to purchase private health insurance or have no health insurance at all.

Now that the ludicrous argument that being on Medicaid is no different than being uninsured is debunked will it change any positions on the Republican side? Not likely because in order to support this program the rich won’t be able to get a tax cut.
