The GOP had six years to come up with a plan they could all get behind to repeal and replace the Affordable Healthcare Act, aka “Obamacare.”  They voted more than 50 times to repeal it in the House and dozens of time in the Senate. They never had a plan.

For the past six years, they have lied about what Obamacare does and doesn’t do.  They have alleged that:

-there were death panels,

-they have said that people would be forced to go to other doctors other than their own, (only happened if a doctor wasn’t on the plan that one chose)

-they have said that undocumented immigrants “illegals” would be provided insurance,

-abortions would be covered by Medicaid

-people were moved from full-time jobs to part-time jobs because businesses couldn’t afford to pay for health insurance

-question your sex life

-increase the deficit

All of the above are lies. Lies that they have been spreading for years.  People believed them and it wasn’t until their recent attempts to repeal and replace Obamacare that many Americans came to understand its benefits.  They also came to understand that the GOP had no intention of trying to improve health care for Americans.  It was far more important for them to cut the taxes on the rich than to provide low-cost health insurance to the most vulnerable Americans.

On Tuesday the Associated Press reported:

The President of the United States is hoping that Americans will lose their health insurance?  He hopes that people will be forces out of markets because there are no insurers to cover them?  He doesn’t want to “own it.”

The GOP failed to repeal and replace Obamacare.  If they are truly interested in doing what is best for the American people they will work with the Democrats to keep what works and fix the part of it that need fixing. More than likely they will not do that, for they, just like Trump,  never wanted anything that President Obama did to succeed even if it meant screwing the American people.
