In a recent profile by Irin Carmon in Marie Claire, socialite and perfume magnate Paris Hilton discussed her career and her dear old friend, Donald Trump.
While Hilton was quick to share her disapproval of Trump’s comments about Mexican immigrants being “rapists and criminals,” she got decidedly more protective of her longtime pal when talk turned to his “grab them by the pussy” line, which she characterizes as “crazy” guy stuff — basically all talk and no action.
When Carmon brings up the fact that Trump — who has know Hilton since she was a girl — has watched her sex tape, Hilton just shrugs it off.
But here’s where things get really weird. When Carmon asks Hilton, “What about all the women that say he did it?” Hilton simply goes on to say that “doesn’t believe” any of his accusers. “I think that they are just trying to get attention and get fame,” she explains. Carmon has posted the full transcript of the interview on Twitter.

On Thursday, Hilton issued an apology, reports Refinery29:
“I want to apologize for my comments from an interview I did last year. They were part of a much larger story and I am regretful that they were not delivered in the way I had intended.
I was speaking about my own experiences in life and the role of media and fame in our society and it was never my intention for my comments to be misapplied almost a year later. I always believe in helping women have their voices heard and helping create an environment where women feel empowered and believe in themselves.
I am deeply hurt by how this has played out and also deeply sorry. Moving forward I will continue to do what I can to be an advocate for girls and women with the hopes of providing a louder voice for those who may desperately need it.”
Lame, Paris, lame.
