A new study in the current issue of Science of the Total Environment suggests that by eating meat we are helping to wipe out areas of biodiversity, leading to the extinction of many species.  The land required to raise cattle has an enormous impact on forests as they continued to be cleared for the growing demand for beef.  Living in those forest are all kinds of species of animals that are now becoming extinct at a greater rate than ever.
