Scientists’ dire warnings about global warming finally helped spur countries around the world to draft an unprecedented international agreement aimed at curbing greenhouse gas emissions in the coming decades. Many are relieved that we are all taking climate change seriously but now worry that the accord is not binding enough.

Now that the deal is done, scientists and activists point out that its success will ultimately depend on the thousands of decisions made in individual countries and inside corporations. Their message: keep focused on your government and what its doing to stay true to the agreement.
