When Killer Mike was stumping for Bernie Sanders, he said the following when referring to Hillary Clinton,
And then, and then she — she get good, she have your own mama come to you. Your own mama say to you, ‘Well, you’re a woman.’ But I talked to Jane Elliott a few weeks ago, and Jane said, ‘Michael, a uterus doesn’t qualify you to be president of the United States. You have to be — you have to have policy that’s reflective of social justice.'”
Hillary Clinton is a former Senator of the United States, she is a former Secretary of State of the United States, before becoming First Lady of the United States she worked as an attorney. To suggest that she doesn’t have the qualifications to be President is ludicrous. For Killer Mike to even quote Elliot begs the question why? Diminishing women to their body parts is sexist. Period. There is no explanation that makes it okay. However Bernie Sander’s rep begs to differ, “Michael Briggs said the Vermont senator “doesn’t believe gender should be a reason to vote for or against someone.”
Briggs didn’t apologize for Mike’s statement, and he backed him up. He is also implying that a woman would vote for Hillary just because she is a woman without thought as to who she is and what she has done. That is insulting and sexist; it suggests that women aren’t going to think about their vote and its consequence.
