)After widespread protests, Icelandic Prime Minister Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson stepped down Tuesday— amid allegations of corruption involving the use of off-shore accounts. Gunnlaugsson is the first apparent casualty of the Panama Papers leaks.

Sigurdur Ingi Johannsson, the deputy chair of Progressive Party, said Gunnlaugsson will remain head of the Progressive Party.
