Last year, Maggie Rogers graduated from New York University where she was studying at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. Instead of working in a restaurant, or some other job to support her musical career as most graduates do, she is going on an international tour.

It all started one day last May when Pharrell came to teach a Master Class. The class was videotaped and what took place when Pharrell heard her music went viral when it was posted online.  He was stunned by her originality and had nothing but praise, no notes, no criticism and no guidance on how to improve what he clearly thought was close to perfection.

That moment changed Roger’s life. She had produced an album  Now That the Light Is Fading that is set to drop next week and soon will go on tour.
