White House counselor Kellyanne Conway went straight to “Fox & Friends” to defend the new White House communications director, Anthony Scaramucci, after he falsely accused Reince Priebus of leaking his financial disclosure form to Politico, reports Marina Fang.

“Conway suggested that filling out financial disclosure forms and having them released to the public discourages qualified people from serving in government ― despite the fact that the procedure is a basic measure of transparency in government,” notes Fang.

Conway’s appearance comes as the White House prepares to crack down on leaks under Scaramucci, at the direct request of President Donald Trump.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is also planning to announce new investigations into alleged leaks.
