In a surprise appearance on SNL’s “Weekend Update: Summer Edition” Tina Fey urged Americans to avoid screaming matches with neo-Nazis. Instead, she said, “order a cake with the American flag on it … and just eat it.”
Fey, a University of Virginia alumna, let the frosting fly, criticizing President Trump for his epic failure to call out the white supremacists and neo-Nazis at the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia last Saturday ended with the death of 32-year-old Heather Heyer who was protesting the rally goers and their hateful message.
“Most of the women I know have been doing it once a week since the election!” Fey told the Weekend Update anchors.
Fey then encouraged Americans to visit Jewish- and African American-owned bakeries and order sheet cakes with the American flag plastered on them. As she stuffed her face with her own sheet cake, which she had purchased while she bashed white supremacists, President Trump, House Speaker Paul Ryan and “yard-sale Barbie,” otherwise known as conservative pundit Ann Coulter.
“Who drove the car into the crowd? Hillary’s emails?!” Fey shouted with a mouthful.
Almost immediately,“#sheetcakemovement” and “#sheetcaking” began trending on Twitter, and within hours, folks were posing pictures of their own Americanized confections.

#sheetcaking. I need to start this.
I mean. I'm a diabetic. So I could die. Either way.
