Shannon Moroney’s husband had a criminal past, but he told her all about it, on their very first date: he’d killed his roommate when he was only 18 and was now on parole from a life sentence. Still, when she met Jason, he’d been out for over five years after serving ten years in prison and was, according to all who knew him, including his parole office and his psychologist, rehabilitated.

And Shannon believed them all, including her husband, right up until the day a police officer showed up at her door to inform her that Jason had been arrested for sexual assault… and that he had confessed to everything.
