New Mother Raped In Hospital

At first she thought her attacker was a doctor coming to examine her in the ICU but then, this 23-year-old woman says, the man started touching her inappropriately before sexually assaulting her.

After the incident, the woman alerted her husband, a sub-investigator with the Delhi police force. Almost immediately local police eventually identified the alleged perpetrator through camera footage, reports Anna Lekas Miller.

Most rape survivors in India are not so lucky. Indian authorities have been criticized as being inefficient and more likely than not to blame the victim.
