Warm Winters Are A Harbinger Of Things To Come

While the idea of less snow and warmer temperatures might be appealing, the reality of why it is happening, and it is happening now, is far more frightening.  Last year was the warmest year on record, and this past February was the most “abnormal warm month” on record.  Plants, flowers are sprouting earlier which leaves them susceptible to killing frost. Birds and other animals rely on cues as to when to migrate. The ecosystem can’t tolerate the confusion.  Climate change is not a thing of the future but is a present day phenomenon that unless dealt with will soon become a frightening future. - Jan Harrison
