Donna Karan was once a fashion icon. No more. She has tarnished whatever image she had of being a pioneer with one of the most clueless, horrendous and disgusting defenses of Harvey Weinstein’s behavior. that has been published to date. Honestly, I haven’t read anything even close to being as egregious as her response.
According to The Daily Mail, Karan told a reporter:
‘To see it here in our own country is very difficult, but I also think how do we display ourselves? How do we present ourselves as women? What are we asking? Are we asking for it by presenting all the sensuality and all the sexuality?
And what are we throwing out to our children today about how to dance and how to perform and what to wear? How much should they show?
This disgusting, deplorable response is part of why men like Harvey Weinstein, Roger Ailes. Bill O’Reilly and Donald Trump thrive in positions of power. People like Karan blame women rather than men who grope, fondle, grab pussies, rape and abuse young girls and women without recourse. Karan deserves to be throttled along with Weinstein as does anyone who defends this serial sexual assaulter and alleged rapist.
