Rose Hamid, a Muslim woman wearing a hijab, was escorted from a Trump rally of nearly 6,000 people in Rock Hill, South Carolina, after she stood in silent protest, behind the candidate. Her apparent offense? She wore a shirt emblazoned with: “Salam, I come in peace.”
Both Hamid and immigration attorney Marty Rosenbluth also wore yellow star-shaped badges that read “Muslim,” “intentionally reminiscent of the yellow badges Jewish people were forced to wear under Nazi rule,” reports Amanda Hopluch.
