Iran has freed the Americans they have been holding. Sanctions are being lifted and the beginning of a new day is afoot in the relationship between Iran and the U.S. Will it work? Only time will tell. History shows us many things including that Iran will have to be watched closely and its up holding of its obligations verified. History also shows us that past enemies can become friends as Japan and Germany are among our staunchest allies. To quote Lennon, “give peace a chance.”
