A complaint has been filed by 31 women who say they were strip-searched multiple times by immigration officials at the Santa Ana City Jail. “Under ICE’s 2011 Performance-Based National Detention Standards (PBNDS), strip searches in immigration detention centers are prohibited unless there’s a reasonable suspicion of contraband possession.”  Victims are saying that it was a blanket policy that had nothing to do with them being suspected of carrying contraband.  Many women complained of being search multiple times on different occasions.  They were made to strip in front of other people even when they were menstruating.
