Tired of playing on sub-par fields that are treacherous for their bodies, last December the US women’s soccer team refused to play in a game on a field in Hawaii because of its poor condition. Their defiance raised eyebrows and concerns over the relationship between the U.S. Women’s National Team Player’s Association and US Soccer. Now US Soccer has sued the player’s union over a collective bargaining agreement.  It expired in 2012, but they are claiming that it has remained valid.  In the skirmish US Soccer released a document that had all of the women’s names and contact information.  Claiming it was a mistake it was pulled after being on the internet for half a day. The players were outraged, and some fear for their safety due to a rabid fan base.
