A Maine clinic has just launched a program where women will be able to obtain the abortion pill through the use of telemedicine. Before this only just three counties in Maine had a clinic that was able to provide abortion services. That number is now 20 due to the advent of telemedicine. Iowa and Minnesota are the only two other states where this is performed as anti-abortion forces have been successful in banning the practice in 18 other states. Those states now require a doctor actually to be in the room and not online.
