Once a progressive network, now no different than the rest
MSNBC and Melissa Harris-Perry have parted ways in an explosive fashion. She walked away without a dime because she refused to sign a non-disparagement agreement. According to Perry, she has been asking for months what is the status of her show and gotten no response. The effect of her departure after the marginalization of Al Sharpton and Joy Reid and the choice of new shows starring white men is noticeable. The nightly lineup includes two white men hosting With All Due Respect, followed by two more white men, Chris Mathews and Chris Hayes followed by a white woman Rachel Maddow and then ended with Lawrence O’Donnell. They pepper their shows with an occasional person of color, but it is not unusual to see very few women and lots of white men pontificating on their view of the world. - Jan Harrison
