Most people say they are now going to urgent care because it is more convenient and is less time-consuming than going to their regular doctors, according to a recent poll.

One in 5 said that they were unable to see their regular doctor when they needed typically because “the doctor didn’t have any available appointments, the office was closed or the doctor was out of the office,” reports Patti Neighmond.

National statistics seem to indicate that about 75 percent of the patients who visit emergency rooms for medical care could be seen in “a less intensive setting — like an urgent care center.”
