Sony will drop producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald a year before his contract expires, according to a new report from TheWrap. The decision comes amid public outcry over Kesha’s rape allegations against him.
Kesha has been fighting an ongoing legal battle against Sony and Dr. Luke and Sony for years, claiming that Dr. Luke “‘sexually, physically, verbally, and emotionally’ abused her starting when she was just 18 years old” reports Callie Beusman.
Kesha has been attempting to get out of her contract with Sony Records, which currently requires that she record her next six albums with Dr. Luke, her alleged rapist, since 2014.
