Woman Has Transplanted Uterus Removed

The first woman in the United States to have a uterus transplant has had to have it removed due to complications.  The operation was performed at The Cleveland Clinic and though it was the first of its kind in the U.S the procedure has been successfully done by doctors at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. Women who are either born without a uterus or has had to have it removed or it doesn’t function properly are potential patients for this kind of surgery. The Cleveland Clinic announced it plans to do 10 uterine transplants last November.
