In a stunning about-face, the Obama Administration is set to withdraw its plans to allow drilling for oil on the Atlantic southeast coast.  The plan had been opposed by many whose livelihoods depended on the shoreline and where even one oil spill could be devastating. Conservation groups also had opposed the plan citing the potential impact on the environment.  Oil companies and state officials who saw this as a job creator and revenue source will be greatly disappointed.
