This past January, immigration officials gathered 121 people for deportation. Many of them were women and children There was an outcry when it was found out that children were being ripped from their beds in the middle of night. Many of those targeted were from Central America.
Now the Department of Homeland Security is once again launching raids targeting women and children. But according to MSNBC, “Problems emerged almost immediately. A number of families saw their deportations called off thanks to a last-minute reprieve from the Board of Immigration Review.” Many of them are eligible for asylum.
