At the final presidential debate last week, Donald Trump described what he called a late-term abortion as a procedure: “in the ninth month you can take the baby and rip the baby out of the womb.” Medical professionals and others all over social media reacted swiftly, explaining that there is no such thing as an “abortion” at nine months.

And yet, this morning while on 700 Club with the Reverend Pat Robertson, Trump repeated this ridiculous assertion, reports Hannah Levintova, and claimed he’d gotten widespread praise from religious leaders for his comments at the debate. Robertson egged him on with a “graphic description of ‘partial-birth abortion,’ an imprecise term used by anti-abortion activists to describe third-trimester abortions.”
