Björk is famous for her groundbreaking music and visual art but she also has a long record of environmental activism, especially in her home country of Iceland.

This year, Björk is using her considerable clout to halt construction in the Highlands, an idyllic region in Iceland known for its untouched beauty. Björk and other environmentalists are hoping to create a national park within the Highlands, which would protect it from development and future harm.
