A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine last year provided evidence that introducing high-risk kids to peanuts early (in this case a peanut mush) reduced the chance of them developing a peanut allergy by 80%.  A follow up to those same set of children also found that the initial introduction of peanuts served almost like a vaccination as they didn’t have to continue to eat peanuts to maintain their tolerance to nuts.
