Jack H. Weil, an immigration judge, thinks you can teach three-year-old children immigration law so they can represent themselves in a courtroom. He says he has done so. He is perfectly comfortable allowing the fate of a child to be in that child’s hands. We don’t allow children to go to the playground by themselves; we don’t allow children that young to walk to school by themselves. We don’t allow them to handle scissors or be in the bathtub by themselves. Yet, this fool thinks they can represent themselves in a court of law?
