Pope Says Europe Morally Bound To Protect Refugees

Great waves of migration, Pope Francis told representatives from the 180 nations that have diplomatic relations with the Holy See, have marked human history. And now is another. He called upon Europe—which, according to his Holiness, has the moral responsibility as well as the means—to protect and care for the migrants who have come from all over the world.

“Francis has made migration the top priority of his pontificate,” reports Nicole Winfield, all the while denouncing the ‘globalization of indifference.’
