This week a 16-year-old boy was verbally and physically attacked in a Baltimore school by a police officer. The video of the incident shows one officer slapping him several times. Another officer stands by and does nothing. Both have been suspended pending an investigation. According to Mother Jones, the training for these officers includes language and doctrine that is totally inappropriate for use in providing instruction and guidelines to anyone whose job it is to provide security in schools.
The documents provide proof that use of the a warrior mentality is part and parcel of their training. As an example: “The section quotes from ‘One Warrior’s Creed,’ a doctrine authored by a Steven R. Watt, a retired police veteran in Utah and a colonel in the state’s Army National Guard. ‘You may defeat me,’ it says, “but you will pay a severe price and will be lucky to escape with your life.'”
