People are starving to death, especially the children in the mountain towns of Madaya and Zabadani in Syria near the Lebanese border. The Syrian Army has been preventing any food or supplies from getting to the towns.  It is a tactic that has been used both by the Syrian army and the rebels as a way to force people into submission.  Yesterday President Assad agreed to let relief agencies into the area, but it is likely that they won’t get there before the weekend meaning others will die of starvation.
